This is such a gorgeously sweet yet sexy read. Lucy was spunky and great fun, whilst Fynd, despite being such a damaged hero, was absolutely wonderful. No small wonder Lucy couldn’t resist him in this nicely written and very enjoyable sci-fi romance.
I would have liked to see more of them forming a connection, it was a little rushed for my taste. However that’s very much a personal preference and was entirely down to this being more of a novella length book, so events do happen at a fairly snappy pace. The writing, pacing and editing are all good and together with two wonderful characters and an interesting plot this is a very enjoyable read.
The alien warrior bought me. But he doesn’t want a slave. He wants me as his mate.
The brutal scars covering Fynd’s face are nothing compared to the wounds that have festered in his heart. After the bitter, public rejection by his intended mate a long time ago, he doubts any female will wish to become his…so he purchases a small human female named Lucy from a slave market. She’ll bear him a few children and he’ll provide for her in return, but he will not expect her to harbour any amount of affection for him.
How could she?
He’s a monster.
He wishes she weren’t so sweet and beautiful. He also wishes his heart didn’t fill with warmth in her presence. She’ll likely never return his affections, but he cannot let her go. Ever. A Vaxxlian warrior always mates for life.
Life hasn’t been easy for Lucy. She prays her next master will be kind, and she’s terrified when the new alien who buys her looks like an angry bull with glowing green eyes. After she attempts escape, she’s certain he’ll punish her severely. Her old master would have. But the alien warrior named Fynd kisses her instead—a shockingly tender kiss that makes her all tingly inside—and she starts to wonder if perhaps there’s more to the unsmiling alien warrior than meets the eye.
There’s a gentleness beneath his hardened exterior, but breaking his defences down won’t be easy. As far as alien warriors go, he’s as stubborn and proud as they come. Can they both find healing in one another’s arms, or will a new threat tear them apart forever?

Wow, SAVING THE OMEGAS is an exciting fusion of omegaverse, romantic suspense, sci-fi and erotica.
We first met Karn in The Omega Prizeand, whilst this is a stand alone book, I personally believe reading that first would increase your enjoyment of this story. (Especially as there are several cross-over characters in both books). However, as already said, this is a complete story so there is no having to get the next book to continue the tale – which is a huge bonus for those who don’t care for cliff-hangers.
Leann Ryans really has given her own spin to the omegaverse genre and created a series of books that easy to read, fun and very sexy. The more I read, the more I found myself being drawn into the story. Karn and Adaria are both wonderfully written characters, with all those qualities I love in a hero and heroine. Karn is alpha, protective and caring without being too arrogant, whilst Adaria is feisty, strong and determined without being whiny or bitchy.
Plenty of sub-plots and side characters give the story plenty of depth and really enrich the reading experience. This is only the authors second book but already I could see how her technique and skill is growing. I enjoyed book #1 and this one is even better – I can’t wait for Red and Rainor’s story.
You’ll have to read this one to know who they are but it’s already shaping up to be a fantastic read.

Karn has already had a chance to win an omega, but he wasn’t interested. With what he did, an omega would just get in his way. He didn’t have the time to coddle some spoiled brat that would just distract him. He had a job to do.
Adaria was hired to find the omegas that had been taken by Largo’s men and free them. Raised by a master thief, she has skills most would never expect an omega to have. She doesn’t need an Alpha to save her, but she may need his help to stop the kidnapping for good.
This is a Sci-Fi Omegaverse story. Saving the Omegas is Book 2 in The Legion Omegas series. This book does not have a cliffhanger and can be read as a standalone, but will make more sense if read in order.
This book has mature language and themes and is not intended for anyone under the age of 18.
I need to start by reassuring Ms Bene that all the angst, all the heartache, all the tearing at her hair, cursing at her keyboard and despairing at her first drafts was so VERY WORTH HER TIME AND EFFORT. In fact I would go so far as to say that all her suffering, all her emotion, bled into this work and made it SUCH an emotional read. Once started, it is one of those books that you just don’t want to put down until you’ve read every word. It’s way beyond the mere 5 stars available to bestow upon it.
David and Lianna are where they want and need to be, with each other. Yet everything is wrong. Instead of being left alone to rebuild her, their, life, outside forces are determined to hold them back and drag them down into the corruption that both are desperately trying to claw their way out of. I need to add at this point that Inheritance isn’t a stand alone book. It’s the second in a trilogy, Destruction must be read first to fully understand David and Lianna’s tale.
Inheritance is full of power, passion, and pain. So many times it slips back into the dark waters of David’s soul, leaving marks both physical and mental on the both of them. Yet that suffering and hurt are necessary, for there lays the path to light, hope and redemption. Lianna and David continue to burn up the sheets with their explosive, and ofttimes violent, chemistry. Theirs is a raw, visceral and twisted relationship but, as two sides of the same coin, they somehow make it work.
So much happens in this book, and yet in some ways not very much at all. It is very much a tale of personal growth, of accepting who you are but also realising that you can change that individual. Realising that the past doesn’t dictate the future. Acknowledging that the sins of the father do not need to be visited upon the son.
I loved every single minute of reading Inheritance, even when it made me cower away in horror. And it builds such a twisty, tangled web of love, suspicion, hope and distrust that will no doubt fray and shatter when they find their final Redemption.
He’d only inherited poison, hate and darkness.

David took Lianna to destroy her… and then everything got complicated.
Falling for the girl he kidnapped shouldn’t have happened. Especially not Lianna Mercier, daughter of the man he hated, and heir to a family name steeped in blood and violence.
But, now she’s his entire world, and Lianna’s is burning down around her.
David may have lit the match that set her life on fire, but all he wants now is to keep her safe. With their future on the line… can he even ask her to choose him after all he’s done?
It was so damn tempting, like he always was. A dark addiction that she couldn’t explain even as he kissed across the much paler bruises he’d left on her neck.
Nicolina Martin is an up-and-coming new author to the dark erotic romance scene. I’ve not previously read her work, but I’d heard such great things about it that I jumped at the chance to review this offering.
Well I have to say that ‘Heat’ is a very apt name for this red hot tale of love and redemption. The story has quite a unique feel to it, seeming to blend contemporary, mafia and dark erotic romance into one very captivating read.
I loved at the start of the book how Nathan was blown totally out of the water for his arrogance towards Sydney. I love a strong alpha male but on the times he overstepped the mark, or pushed too hard, I equally loved how Sydney wasn’t afraid to put him back in his place. Too often these egotistical traits are written as if they are desirable, I’m with Syd and would very much tell a guy like that where to get off. Treat me with respect and acknowledge I have a brain, or take a hike.
Sydney on the surface blew a little hot and cold, but I totally found myself agreeing with her actions and motives. She wasn’t some silly heroine who was happy to overlook the truth about the hero. She was sometimes naive, but in the way that many of us would have been in that situation. Nor was she so in lust that she lost all cognitive ability – don’t you just hate it when a heroine thinks/says one thing but one glimpse of the hero has her knickers falling down faster than the speed of light? I know it bugs the heck out of me.
I loved how each gave the other the strength to find and be who they truly wanted to be, and not let family keep them in a box that just didn’t fit anymore. I also appreciated how the plot didn’t follow the standard tropes and cliches. It felt fresh and would be hard to pigeon-hole as any specific sub-genre of romance.
This was a story that not only kept me entertained but also left me guessing as to not only how the plot would unfold, as well as how it would end. I wasn’t disappointed by any of it.

I don’t move, my heart speeds up. In an instant, I remember where I am. What I have done. I slept on his lap, knowing it was an open invitation to something I still can’t articulate. I fight to control my breathing and try not to stir, because I don’t want him to know I’m awake. I want to see where he takes this.
I realize I’m holding my breath and force myself to breathe again. I try to inhale calmly, but it catches in my throat. His arm, draped around my waist, tightens. He knows I’m awake, knows I’m not objecting, and he’s not stopping.
His hand slides under the blanket. It’s hot on my skin through my thin blouse. He traces a path along my arm down to my hand that lies in front of my chest, then he moves and places his palm below my breasts, letting it rest there. A finger slides across my nipple. It stiffens instantly. It screams for his attention, and that light brush is far from satisfying. I forget to breathe, and then I just give up on it altogether. I want more. This feels so kinky. So forbidden.
I have to force myself to stay still.
His hand hovers over my nipple, then he pinches it gently and I gasp, spikes of want surging through me. This pretending-to-sleep routine is going to be hard to keep up. When I don’t object, he grows bolder and cups my breast and squeezes. Carefully at first, and then with more force. He suddenly stills and I hear the soft steps of someone approaching.
“Is there anything you need, sir? Coffee? A pillow for yourself?”
“Thank you. I’m good,” he answers cheerfully.
“She seems to be having a good sleep.”
“Oh yes. Anyone would envy her.” His voice reverberates through his chest.
Oh yes indeed!
His hand starts exploring again. It moves down along my belly and I tense up like a piano wire. Is he going where I think he’s going? But then I feel his warm palm on my naked skin as he pushes his hand under my blouse and moves upward again. He pushes up my bra, freeing my breasts, pinching first one nipple and then the other before he firmly squeezes my breasts, paying good attention to them both. I squirm and am barely able to stifle the moan that wants to escape my throat. His other hand rests on my head, toying with my hair, then taking more of a forceful hold of it as his breathing changes, gets more labored. I like it. I like that I affect him as much as he affects me.
When his hand abandons my breasts, I miss its presence immediately. I wonder if he’s done exploring, but he changes direction, caressing along my stomach and then down the front of my hip. Oh—Oh my God! Sliding his hand down my skirt, he pulls it up until his fingers rest scorching hot on my thigh. Agonizingly slow, he feels his way up my thigh until his hand rests on my panties. Panties that are drenched with moisture.
When a finger starts circling my clit through the fabric, I can’t help the moan that escapes me.

More monstrously good darkness from Carmen Jenner – 5 stars
Picking up a few days after the end of “Gods & Monsters Part One”,this hits the ground running, not slowing down until you hit the end, falling over the edge of one almighty cliff-hanger. I can’t wait until the final part releases so that I can continue the tumble straight into it’s pages and complete this wonderful story.
I so really want to write an in-depth review of this book, examining all the little nuances of the story, all the surprises it holds in store, all the reveals, unanswered questions and arising suspicions. However that would mean giving away too much of the plot, it would mean revealing spoilers and it would mean you don’t go in blind. So to give you allow you the same roller coaster ride I took I’m keeping this deliberately vague. The enjoyment of this book is in not knowing what will happen to Pet, is in not knowing who the hero(es) and villains are and is in not knowing if she will ever truly find herself again.
There are some new faces added to the mix, some you will love, a few you will dislike and others you may even hate. All of them touch Pet’s life in some way, leading her to the path she eventually chooses to take. There’s not a lot more I can say, at least not without spoiling the plot, but I can tell you that I found this to be an absolutely gripping read. Once I’d picked it up I didn’t want to put it down again until it was finished. Whilst this didn’t have as much darkness from non-con and dub-con as #1 did, the mental and emotional struggles of Pet, and others, ensured it retained that sharp edge of danger.
I had only one smallish criticism, and that was based around her fiance. The word ‘cliche’ sprang to mind, I might be wrong (I’ll find out when book #3 releases) but that story line felt unnecessary and very trite. However it was all of a paragraph or two in what was otherwise an absolutely amazing follow up to the fabulous first instalment.
If you’ve read book #1 then you will definitely want to read this book. If you haven’t read the first book, and you love a dark romance, then you need to read them both. ASAP!

Whilst Joanie could be read as a stand alone story, the ending does segue into the next book and there are also a few ‘lose ends’. I wouldn’t class it as cliffhanger, but the story line is still quite open. I haven’t read Book #1 but had absolutely no problem picking up the plot, understanding the ‘world’ it was set in, or knowing who was whom. There are a few spoilers in this but not enough that it’s put me off catching up and reading Vivian, Virgin Vampire.
This is a wonderful mix of new adult, paranormal, reverse-harem, romantic comedy. It’s written from quite a few pov’s but it’s very easy to know who’s voice you are ‘hearing’ and I found it both easy, as well as extremely enjoyable, to read.
Joanie is a bit crazy, a lot loyal and an altogether wonderful character. She really drew me into the story and was a big part of why I enjoyed this. Whilst Aldren, Adrian and Abel are quite distinct characters, we don’t ‘hear’ their voice enough to really get an in depth feel for them. However this is a light and fun read, so for me that didn’t matter too much.
What you will find is that it has a well thought through plot, with some unexpected twists and intriguing revelations as the story unfolds. It was highly entertaining and left me wanting so much more. I will most certainly be reading Lucy’s story when it is released.
Highly recommended to those who love a steamy vampire story and don’t object to a few laughs along the way.
“99% positive that I was the only person at graduation still carrying her v-card.”
When Joanie’s best friend Vivian goes missing after prom she knows that there is something ‘the parents’ aren’t telling her.
The more she investigates the stranger things get. But it isn’t until she finds herself kidnapped and craving blood that things really get crazy.
Meet the Triple A’s, three of the hottest triplets known to humankind. Alden, Adrian, and Abel have been tasked with keeping Joanie safe.
The only problem is that they can’t keep their hands off of her–or she can’t keep her hands off of them.
18+ mature language and themes.

This is a warm smooch of a tale about how first, second and sometimes even third impressions aren’t always correct. I’d describe it as the perfect ‘pick me up’ book. Its both a book you should pick up, to read, and a heart warming tale that will pick your spirits up and leave you with that feel-good factor.
Crush on you, is a funny, gentle, smoking hot, romantic comedy and is everything you didn’t know you needed. It has two of the most adorable, yet sexy, characters in Roman and Jenny. This is a couple you just won’t be able to get enough of.
At school Jenny was the awkward geeky girl, the one who had to teach herself how to fit in. Roman was the hot guy everyone wanted to notice them, and he’s not grown any less hot with age. Let’s just say he wasn’t quite the arrogant player that Jenny remembered from her high school days. In fact both main characters were incredibly easy to like and are part of what made this a truly great read.
Whilst I want to describe this as quite a ‘sweet’ romance, that’s because of how it made me feel rather than ‘heat’ levels. This has plenty of hot bedroom (and waterfall, and elsewhere) scenes. The pace was perfect, quick enough to completely hold my attention throughout but not so fast that I ever got lost. The moment I dipped my toes into this book I was just buoyed along on a journey of love, secrets, mistakes and laughter.
I really, really enjoyed this book and I’m sure you will too.

She’s my new employee. So she’s 100% off-limits.
And that’s not all.
Jenny London is the girl everyone overlooked in high school, including me. I had no idea that she’d gone from ugly duckling to brunette bombshell until the moment she stepped into my office wearing a red bikini and a smile.
If this is revenge for ignoring her in school, she’s serving it hot. And if it’s not? Doesn’t matter. The sight of her around the office is driving me wild.
Too wild. I have a resort to save and a business to run. I need my head in the game, not tugging down the straps of her bikini.
I have to stop myself from falling. Office romances are forbidden for a reason: to protect the Bliss Resort and its legacy.
But let’s be honest…it’s already too late.

***Note*** This story first appeared in the Daddy’s Demands anthology, it’s been tidied up and, since the original book is no longer available, released separately.
Daddy Ever After is set in the Annex, that appears in both Beastand Tower. This can very much be read as a stand-alone story, though the other books are well worth reading too!
It has a very sweet feel to it, being fairly low on angst, but has plenty of heat too. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Daddy Dom book if there wasn’t some spanking, so if that offends this isn’t the book for you.
Jaelynn was very naive and on a path to her own destruction, thank goodness she had the amazing Hunter to warm her bottom and set her on the right path. This couple were just amazing together and I fell in love with both them and their story.
Since this is a fairly quick read, and I don’t want to give any of the plot away, I won’t talk about what happens. Instead I’ll just say that, whilst on paper I might have passed over this story as insta-love and a naive heroine aren’t always my thing, the wonderful writing and believable connection totally hooked me into it.
Highly recommended to all DD/lg fans, as well as anyone looking for a hot, quick and very feel good read.
It was only supposed to be a weekend contract. But Daddy had other plans.
Weekend play dates are my stress release. Contract a girl, have some fun, get back to business. But Jaelynn isn’t like my other girls. There’s more to her; more substance, and a sensuality I can’t just ignore. She’s also a naughty girl, but I have no trouble bending her over my knee, or to my will.
She thinks she’s holding all the cards this weekend, but by the end, she’ll know who her Daddy Ever After really is.

Every single Lily White book grabs me from page one and beats my head repeatedly against it’s sheer brilliance until I’m so dizzy I can barely breathe.
Fantastic. Awe-inspiring. Mind blowing. Heart crushing. Soul searing. Take every amazing, wonderful, out of this world descriptive and apply it to The Five, and even then you won’t come close to conveying just how good this book is.
Five years, five neighbours, five older men, five victims, five times
Whilst you can sort of guess some of the twists, and unlike so many other authors whose work falls by the wayside, Lily very cleverly weaves her tale so that there aren’t the usual plot holes. So many twists in other books don’t stand up to closer scrutiny, I don’t believe that can be said of The Five. In fact I even stupidly doubted her at one point. I was naive enough to think ‘well if I’m correct, I’m not sure how she’s going to explain…. or how she will convince me that….’.
HA! FOOL! Of course the magnificence that is Lily White will pull the twists off. Not only that but she will pound you into the finest dust, to be blown away on the wind, whilst she does it. My heart bled for Rainey and, despite all the fucked-up (pun intended) stuff she had done, even at the end I totally and utterly adored her. When she lost Rowan, a little piece of my heart crumbled too.
This magnificent story is told in first person, with ‘present day’ chapters from Justin’s point of view and most of Rainey’s being her retelling the previous five years.
The number five was important for some reason, but there were already so many possibilities as to what it could mean.
This is a romance that isn’t a romance but yet is a truly great love story that will last beyond time on this mortal coil and span into the infinity of the great ever after. Despite not being able to love herself, Rainey was so very much loved, into death and beyond, by one wonderful, if broken, man.
Do yourself a favour and read this. You’d be a fool not to.
I promise you I’ll take care of you, I promise I’ll always protect you……. I will love you more than anybody Rainey, I promise you that……I’ll always come find you…promise…..You and me forever, promise.
Every man who meets Rainey wants her. Having lived a life of sex, drugs and manipulation, she is a temptation with far too many secrets. When psychologist, Justin Redding, is assigned to Rainey’s case, he has no way of knowing the tale of debauchery he will encounter. On a twisted path of love, loss and murder, Rainey leads Justin through the events of her life. Death follows Rainey… Justin fights to discover her secrets… But will he discover the secret of THE FIVE in time to resist Rainey’s ultimate seduction? “This book deals with sensitive subject matter that may be upsetting to some readers.”

Excerpt: “No, Rainey. Let me look at you. I love looking at you. Even when I close my eyes, all I see is you.” I dropped my arms, my legs trembling. This was Rowan, the sweet, kindhearted boy I loved. Yet, in that moment I feared him. The adrenaline was wearing off and I was suddenly so cold. His lips parted as he stared at me, those blue eyes I knew so well slowly taking in my body as heat blazed behind them. He’d grown so large, twice my size at least, and it had never occurred to me how strong he was until now. Nobody would pick on him anymore. Not without getting their asses handed to them in a fight. “Can I touch you, Rainey?” His eyes lifted to mine. “Is that all right? For me to touch you?” “Always,” I whispered, unable to put any strength in my voice. “You can always touch me.” He stepped forward and I stepped back out of instinct. He would never hurt me. Not Rowan. But what I saw in him now was the predator that had always lingered just beneath the surface. He wasn’t a monster like his family or David. Not him. He was something else entirely. Pain shot through his eyes when I moved, his hands fisting at his sides. “Do I scare you now?” Shaking my head, I forced my mouth to move. “No. It’s just -“ “Just what?” “You’re different, Rowan. A man, I guess. You’ve grown.” Blue eyes held mine, the darkness in them seeping away, but not entirely. His lips pulled into a tight smile. “You need a man. I’ve become exactly what you need. For you, Rainey. Not anybody else. Just for you.” I drew in a rattling breath. “Touch me.” Rowan moved forward and I held my ground, craning my neck to look up at him. He was shaking, his skin so cold that I knew I had to fix him somehow. “Rowan?” “Yeah?” “Will you kiss me?”

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
I FLOVED this book, IMHO it’s the best one yet. In fact I was that drawn into the story I read it in one day. This features Riley and Cameron, we’ve not really met either character before, though both have been hinted at/been in the background.
I either want to BE Riley or marry her (even though I’m straight and been married for 24 years). God that woman is kick-ass. Cameron was pretty decent too, though he paled in comparison to her absolute amazingness. My word she led him a merry dance with her determination to see justice served. I felt that he showed a great deal of respect for Riley, even though he too wanted to protect her a little toomuch at times.
In earlier books I’d got the impression that many of these super strong females had been spanked into submission by their alpha’s and were pretty much toe-ing the line. The last book threw a few doubts around that, this totally blows it out the water. There is a much stronger feel of discontent amongst the women, not particularly regarding their male so much as the patriarchal nature of their society as a whole. There was mention of an underground network that helped females escape less enlightened mates, and we discover that those Bae Diogel girls haven’t been quite as well behaved and meek as it might first appear.
Now if you don’t like alpha males who decide when their mate has been naughty, and spank/welt her ass soundly when she is, then you probably won’t like this. SO STEP AWAY, OR AT THE VERY LEAST PROCEED WITH CAUTION. I’d hate to see negative reviews on a book that clearly states that it has spanking and that in this parallel universeshifter males are in charge.
Another thing I will throw out there is that this finishes with a part of the story line left ‘hanging’. I wouldn’t call this a cliff-hanger and we do see Cameron and Riley’s story reach a HFN point BUT the ending almost isn’t an ending. HOWEVER that isn’t a criticism as I can see quite clearly that it’s a lead up to the next book. Part of me feels like Riley should continue to be the heroine, however so far each book has featured a separate couple, so I’m not making any assumptions. I do think she and some of the Bae Diogel girls will be playing a significant role in that book though.
I have a sneaking suspicion this may be the penultimate book, though I really REALLY hope it isn’t because I quite simply haven’t had enough of this world yet. However they do say to always go out on a high, and with how the series has been shaping up so far I do have high hopes for the next book.
Whilst this has an ongoing background story, and characters from previous books, I firmly believe you CAN read it as a stand-alone. It contains a few very mild spoilers for previous books (not many though) and seems to explain things I already knew in a way that didn’t feel tedious or repetitive, but would allow someone new to the series to pick up on what they’ve missed.
If you love shifter romances or domestic discipline stories then I highly recommend this book. I can’t wait for the next one.
She thought she could run from her mate. Then he lassoed her.
Riley decided years ago that she would be better off on her own, but when the alpha of the local pack finds out there’s a lone wolf causing trouble on his turf he takes matters into his own hands.
As far as Cameron Nichols is concerned, Riley will be joining his pack whether she likes it or not. Her only choice will be whether to submit to his authority with or without needing to be stripped bare and spanked over his knee until she is kicking and crying and promising obedience. When she chooses the latter, the Navy SEAL turned cowboy is more than happy to oblige.
But Cameron knows instantly that Riley isn’t just a feisty female in need of an alpha’s firm hand. She is his mate, and she knows it too, despite her best efforts to deny it. No matter how many times she tries to run, he will always chase her down, punish her thoroughly, and then mount and claim her so roughly that all she can do is scream her helpless, shamefully intense pleasure into the pillow as her body betrays her and surrenders ever more completely to his demands.
Author Synopsis:
For all the Wayward fans who may have thought the Alpha guys have it easy, meet Riley Gentry a.k.a. The Masked Marauder.
Riley, lone wolf, alpha herself, has dedicated her life to rescuing as many women as possible from the rogue packs who have kidnapped them to use for breeding. Using the cover of working as an executive chef for hire, Riley has been very successful in getting women out and to safety with the packs in the Coalition. But her rescues have bought her to the attention of the Ruling Councils and the kidnappers.
Enter Cameron Nichols, powerful cowboy alpha of the Wolf Meadow pack in Galveston.
Believing the masked women is using his territory as her home base, Cameron intends to discover her identity and bring her under the protection of his pack.
Two strong-willed alphas — fated mates. Who will rescue who?
Excerpt:
Standing side-by-side along with their mates, Roz and Skylar grinned at either and each delivered a staggering blow to the other’s mate. Maddie tripped Griffin as Catherine smashed a priceless urn over Marco’s head. Marco seemed unphased by the blow and brushed the chards of pottery from his hair. Declan had a death grip on Ava who managed to stomp on his foot and bite him anyway.
Darby broke free from Jean-Michel and launched herself at Cameron knocking him to the ground. As Jean-Michel fisted her hair to pull her off of him, she grabbed a small chair, turned within his grasp and broke it over his head. He shook his head, grinned at her but didn’t loosen his grip and growled at his mate in a menacingly affectionate tone.
Cameron got to his feet and was out the front door just in time to see an SUV speeding up the driveway toward the main road.
