Commander’s Price by Diana Logan

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 1/2

This book found its way to me via an offer in a different authors newsletter. I’m glad I took advantage, otherwise I would have missed finding a great book, I’m just sad I can’t thank them for pointing bringing the book to my attention . It’s the first in a series and I have every intention of reading them all. Don’t be fooled, it starts of so spicy hot and I thought I was going to read a hot but slightly lacking in true sci-fi story. Boy was I happy to be wrong, it may start off feeling fairly light-weight but before you know it you are neck deep in intrigue, secrets and mystery.

Commander’s Price contains some really wonderful world building, it has a proper ‘science fiction’ feel to it. Whilst a couple of things were still a little ambiguous at the end of this first instalment, I’m confident this was a deliberate ploy by the author. After all neither Katy nor Grix have the full picture yet either.

Speaking of our heroine and hero, what well rounded and interesting characters they were. Occasionally Grix came across as cold, rude or unfeeling but this was a mixture of crazy circumstances and language barriers. Other times he was so incredibly sweet, not to mention incredibly sexy. He does still need a slap upside the head at the end of this book, though I’m sure he will wise up by the end of the series!

The story unfolded so well, peeling back to reveal layer upon layer and providing one heck of an interesting read. There are some wonderfully humorous touches, along with some very nerdy sci-fi pop culture references, the author definitely knows her stuff. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and can’t wait to read the next book in the series – I’m off to pre-order it now!

He was the most gorgeous creature to ever walk into Katy’s dive bar. And he claimed he was looking for a woman. Two shots of tequila later, Katy is more than willing to accompany her new friend back to his place for a night of mind-blowing sex that proves to be out of this world.

Katy wakes up on a spaceship halfway across the galaxy, the captive of a smoking-hot alien who claims he’s an exiled prince, and that Katy holds the key to helping him win back his throne, as long as she’s willing to pay the… COMMANDER’S PRICE

5 stars – This is a book I will not forget and would definitely read again.

4 stars – I really enjoyed this book, I might not read it again but I would definitely recommend it to others.

3 stars – This story was good but either forgettable or just very typical of its genre.

2 stars – Whilst the book was readable I either didn’t enjoy parts of the plot or just could not connect to the main characters.

1 star – This is a book I simply could not finish for reasons listed in the review.
