It’s Monday! What are you reading?

It’s Monday! What are you reading?

This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn over at The Book Date. It’s a chance to share a little book love and is great fun to join in with. Do visit The Book Date to find other blogs that are taking part.

So last week I struggled with a couple of books I was meant to be arc reading and got distracted by a new-to-me author at the end of the week. Below are the books I completed.

What I am currently reading.

So I’m doing a re-read of a book I beta read simultaneously with an arc read, Mafia Lullaby by Alta Hensley and Measha Stone. OK clearly I’m not reading both books at exactly the same time, but I’m finding arc reading really challenging at the moment – despite the fact that it’s authors I love and books that normally I wouldn’t be able to put down. It’s 100% me and where my head is at in these challenging times.

What I will also be reading this week

So I have a couple of other arc’s to read but will probably also indulge in another Club Risque book by Poppy Flynn.

  1. I’m finding the same sort of trouble with ARC reading. A book has to be truly amazing to be able to overcome everything else that is going on – and few of them are. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

    • Yes I also find it easier if I can mix my own choices in with the arc reads. I just had a few unexpectedly drop on my all at the same time. A couple were ok with allowing longer to review as they’d brought the release forward, but you still feel that pressure.

    • Definitely! I’m trying to keep this in mind when I’m reviewing because books that I’m sure I would have given 4 stars to back in February are at risk of only being given 2 at the moment!
