It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a wonderful place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be, reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! Everyone is welcome. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn over at The Book Date.
I wouldn’t call myself a royalist by any stretch of the imagination, but my utmost sympathies did go out to the Queen and her family as they buried Prince Philip this weekend. To have to remain stoic and in the public eye at such a (for them) heart breaking time must have been very difficult indeed. It’s back to work today, following a couple of weeks off over Easter. At least the weather has picked up and there is nothing quite like beautiful blue skies to lift ones mood.
We ventured a little further afield yesterday and drove to another nearby town where there is a beautiful walk along the side of a canal. One of the first things we saw was a grass snake, sunbathing on the path. Of course the noise of our approach disturbed it, so it slithered into the canal and swam away! We were also lucky enough to see buzzards (a large bird of prey), a heron, a couple of fish, lots of duck, coots and moorhens, lots of horses and ponies, cute little lambs and a mother duck with at least a dozen fluffy little ducklings!
Read This Week
I completed three books, the first being a beta read, the second was a mystery/suspense by a relatively new author and the final one was from NetGalley and a follow up to a previous book I had read.. I also started and abandoned several books. Arc commitments have led to me putting aside Before Girl by Kate Canterbary, though I do intend on coming back to that as soon as I can.
I’ve got several arcs to read asap, plus a beta read, so busy times ahead. This is the my priority as it releases later this week.
I’m really excited about reading ALL of these books, so hopefully it will be a good reading week.
I hope your week has been a good one. Happy reading x
