Friday Book Blogger Hop – 14th – 20th May

Friday Book Blogger Hop

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books. It is now hosted by Billy @Coffee Addicted Writings. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

What book character do you think you are most like and why?

submitted by Julie @ JadeSky

The only trouble with this question is that I probably won’t have heard of the characters YOU choose and you won’t have read many of the books I have. So finding a character who will hold any meaning is difficult. Added into that is the fact that not many heroines are on the wrong side of 50, overweight with a fairly sedated life! Heroines are go getters, exciting, interesting and adventurous, so I’m really struggling over here!

In my early teens I guess I was most like Hermione Granger, well at least in terms of my dedication to school work and adherence to following the rules. I never quite mastered using a wand to cast spells though. I must add that I often feel as confused and baffled by life as Alice does whilst she’s in Wonderland. I think I’m somewhere between Elizabeth Bennett and Bridget Jones, not quite as scatty or obsessed by fashion as Bridget, not quite as well bred as Elizabeth!

So who is your book twin?

  1. Wha ha ha ha Louise! This was an excellent post and I have to admit, I think I’m almost the same. Still on the right side of 50, but not by a long shot.

Lovely character sketches. I couldn’t think of any for myself, so I just chose one for Elza – my cat who thinks she rules the world.

Hope you will have a good weekend and good luck with those spells. You’ll get it right!

  2. I forgot about Hermione! Duh haha! I change my answer 😉

When I was growing up, my friends teased me and said I was a “Rule Nazi” and a “Goody Two Shoes” with my head always stuck in a book. So, yes, I’m a lot like Hermione. Thanks for the reminder!

  3. I love your answer, Louise. I couldn’t think of one and was too tired when I was thinking on it to be creative like you were so skipped this week’s BBHOP. I don’t know that anyone would want to read a book with me as it’s heroine. The truth is I see bits of myself in many of the characters I connect with as I read. Certainly not all, but many. Just not the hole. I think that’s fairly normal though–that ability to relate to others in one way or another.

I hope you have a great weekend!
