Sunday Wrap-Up ~~ 26th December

Each Sunday I will be rounding up my week and linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberley @Caffeinated Reviewer as well as The Sunday Salon meme hosted by the wonderful Deb @Readerbuzz. Do please pop by their blogs and show them a little love 💗.

Life Last Week

Happy Boxing Day, if you celebrate Christmas, happy Sunday otherwise! It’s been a week of reading, relaxing and then rushing out for last-minute Christmas purchases. Having spent far too many years last-minute wrapping I now use (and re-use) gift bags, making the whole process a lot easier and quicker.

Yesterday was spent with all our offspring, one of their partners, my parents and my husband’s mother. It’s been a few years since we were last all together so it felt pretty special!

Books Read Last Week

What a dismal reading week it was – whilst I read two great stories I also had three DNF’s!

Song of Dragons and the prequel novella The Rising Wave were both hugely entertaining fantasy romances.

The first two books were NetGalley arcs that just failed to hold my attention, the rom-com was a library book that had so much potential but just lacked, well, a plot if I’m being honest!

Currently Reading

Within days of wishing she could change her life, Fran Cooper is acting assistant to a celebrity, on a yacht in the Mediterranean, and en route to a tiny Italian island and the glittering Crystal Ball, along with the world’s rich and famous.
When she – quite literally – bumps into a handsome American called Evan, a man able to keep his cool in the face of chaos, the magic really begins.
Evan makes her a promise: no last names, no life stories, just one unforgettable night. Yet Evan belongs at the Crystal Ball and Fran is a gatecrasher. They may be soulmates, but their homes are an ocean apart, and their lives a world apart. They’ll never meet again – unless, on a night like this, everything can change forever…

Looking forward to…

…reading the next two books in The Rising Wave series.

…visiting with family and friends.

…getting blog posts scheduled for next year!

Blog Posts to Share

I really must update this section of the post as I actually visit blogs as trying to remember which great posts I’ve read over the course of a week is somewhat beyond me😂.

I loved this meme idea by Budget Tales Book Blog and if you love romantic suspense then check out this review by Reading Tonic. Check out some great Christmas book-to-movie adaptations with Tessa Talks Books, Lori @ Fifty-Two shared how many books she has read this year and finally I loved reading Hayley’s thoughts on why some people don’t read on her blog here.

    1. Historically in the UK Boxing Day was traditionally a day off for servants – a day when they received a special Christmas box from their masters. It’s now a Bank/Public Holiday.

  1. Happy Boxing Day! We do the bags and reuse them also. I’m a horrible wrapper. I’m so happy to hear you are able to have that family time. And a happy New Year to you!
