A huge shout out to the amazing Kimberley @Caffeinated Reviewer, for continuing to host The Sunday Post. It’s a great place to meet other bloggers and find some great book recommendations.
Life in General
We started the New Year by celebrating my Mum’s birthday, though sadly my sister was still too ill with flu to join us. We then took a couple of days to take down all the Christmas decorations. This year I took more time sorting and organising them so that, hopefully, next year I’ll remember what I have and where it needs to go!
It’s been a very wet start to the year, some regions have already had the average rainfall for the month, but then I see images of what is happening in the USA and realise how much worse things could be.

Read Over The Last Two Weeks
In an echo of 2022, my first book of the year was a DNF! It was quickly followed by 5 library books, all of which I enjoyed. There was a dip earlier this week when I eventually got around to reading my copy of Book Lovers, by Emily Henry. I was most disappointed after all the great things I’d heard about it last year but for me, it was a rather lacklustre read.

Currently Reading
I’m not sure if I will read every author in this anthology, but there are a few who interest me.

Up Next
The first is a library book, and the others are arcs. My fingers are crossed in the hope of three great reads!

Sorry to hear your first read of the year was a DNF (let’s just do a virtual sage burn to get rid of that bad reading juju). I like Henry’s books, but I understand being disappointed when you are expecting more. Looks like you are having fun with the Agatha Raisin books. Cozy mysteries? I hope all three books are hits this week, and that it dries out a bit by you.

It’s turning very cold – which at least means no rain! I’m finding myself reading everything but what I am meant to be.

Sorry to hear you’ve already had some disappointing reads this year. I enjoyed Book Lovers a lot, but I know it’s not for everyone.
As for your Christmas decorations, we’re on the same wavelength. I finally put some extra sorting and organizing into mine as I put them away this time. Hopefully, it’ll make things easier when pulling them out next time.

Each year I regret not organising them a little better and always realise I’ve forgotten something. Fingers crossed we both reap the benefits in December!

Congrats on your mum’s birthday!🥳 Shame your sister was ill,but i hope your mum still enjoyed the party. After one DNF,you at least had no less than 5 stories you enjoyed,so the balance is still good….right? Even if the one after was not what you’d hoped…..

The balance has definitely been on the good book side!

Which of those books was the DNF? I hope not the Kiss Quotient. I adored that story. Glad you were able to celebrate Mum’s birthday. My first couple weeks in January have been slow for reading. I just haven’t felt it, even though the books are decent. I also had a DNF already. Here’s to finding some reading mojo!

I loved TKQ. I DNF’d We All Want Impossible Things (disliked the FMC) and also Book Lovers by Emily Henry (boring and bland)

I hope your sister is feeling much better. How amazing you took the time to organize the Christmas decor for next year. I don’t think I’ve ever done that. Have an excellent week!
