The Lavender Phantom
(Club Lavender, #1)
by Lainey Delaroque

Goodreads – https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/56273412

Release Date – February 9th 2021

Genre – Romantic Thriller/Suspense

Synopsis –
Sophie Taylor, 24, loves three things: her sister, tea and kinky pain. As the single guardian of 14-year-old Melanie, she works hard and plays hard, navigating being a good sister and a responsible adult every day.
When her sister returns home with a myriad of bruises and a single memory of club Lavender, Sophie feels like a failed parent– and itches to see justice done.
She infiltrates Lavender in search of the culprits and hard evidence to bring them down. Lavender unravels before her with its sumptuous drinks and lavish aesthetic but as she finds an attractive man tied-up in the basement, she uncovers the place has a vicious, depraved side, ready to suck her in.
Alone in a club full of enemies, Sophie struggles to keep sight of her goal. But someone has her back. The Lavender Phantom, an urban legend said to haunt Lavender and help those in need, has taken an interest in her. Can Sophie really trust this mysterious stranger, or is he another hook to drag her deeper into Lavender’s intoxicating danger?

When she learns the life of another child could be destroyed in Lavender’s extravagant rooms, she has to choose – save him or save herself.

I’m reading this for two reasons, first the blurb sounded incredibly intriguing and secondly I’m wanting to read more genres this year. As a result I’m easing myself into that with a romantic thriller, in the hopes that I can then move on to more conventional thriller and suspense stories.

Flirting with danger is Aubri’s idea of fun.
Ever since we were children, I’ve known Aubri wasn’t like other females. She’s the daughter of Magni and Laura Aurelius, who raised her to be a fearless warrior.
Men are blinded by Aubri’s beauty, charm, and social status. Yet, at twenty-seven, no one has succeeded in making her his wife. Starving for adventure, she volunteered for the dangerous work as an Explorer in Old Europe. It’s crazy and the mortality rate alone should’ve made her think twice. But that’s the trouble with my friend; she thinks she’s immortal. My hardest job right now is protecting her from herself.

Indiana’s and Aubri’s life-long friendship is put to the test as they find themselves settling into a new life far from home. Her unpredictable and impulsive behavior drives him mad. Without the watchful eyes of her family, Aubri finally feels free to test, try, and discover.
Influenced by the Europeans’ relaxed relationship with sex, Aubri develops a fascination that puts Indiana in a difficult bind. Will he break his promise to Aubri’s father and let her explore while she can? Or will he do what no one has managed to do before: make her see reason?

Genre- Contemporary Romance

All my life, I’ve been in love with my best friend. All my life I’ve waited for him to notice. I’m done waiting. I’m moving on with my life…I’m having a baby.
I really need to get over Walker Kingston.
My lifelong infatuation with my best friend is sort of embarrassing. The tall, broody hunk of farmer has always been my fierce protector, my constant hero, my knight in flanneled armor. But to him, I’ve never been more than a friend, the girl he saves from trouble in the middle of the night.
This whole damsel-in-distress thing is getting kind of old. I’m tired of being a burden on Walker. I’m ready to stand on my own feet. I may never win his love but I’m ready to focus on the other things I want in my life.
And what I want most? A baby.
I’ve practically got one foot inside the sperm bank when the overprotective alpha intercepts my plan. Now he says he will father my child.
Nope. Nuh-uh. Absolutely not.
I’m trying to get over the guy. So letting him be my baby daddy is low-key dysfunctional. But Walker insists it won’t affect our friendship. Plus, he has all these amazing qualities that make his offer super hard to resist. He’s strong and charming and fine as hell. And he’s the only person I really trust.
Okay. Fine. Grab the specimen cup. Off to the fertility clinic we go.
Except nothing ever goes to plan.
Now I need rescuing–again. And Walker has made it his mission to take care of my every need–again. And when the ever-grumpy cowboy introduces me to his soft, nurturing side, I’m a goner.
Well, damn. How the hell am I supposed to get over the man now?

Mister Baby Daddy is a steamy, laugh-out-loud, arranged pregnancy, small town romance featuring a growly alpha with a huge savior complex and a strong distaste for turtlenecks. It is set in small town Illinois and is book 3 in the Bad Boys in Love series.
A full-length standalone. No cliffhanger. HEA guaranteed.

Dear Wesley Kane,
We are not getting married. I know we had to get engaged as part of our companies’ merger plans, but a fake engagement is all I’ll agree to. For business purposes. We are never, ever getting married.
We have nothing in common. I’m the nerdy do-gooder girl with glasses and you’re the playboy with a new woman on his arm every week. I’m not your type, and you’re not mine.
Okay, so you’re incredibly gorgeous. And funny. And you keep giving me That Look. And you’ve ditched all your other girlfriends for me. And I’ve seen you in nothing but your boxer shorts, and I’m still thinking about it. Because…wow.

We have to be married by midnight Christmas Eve, and the deadline is getting closer. It doesn’t matter if you might be my dream guy. It doesn’t matter if I’m falling for you—it’s just a business deal. We are never, ever—
Oh God, I just kissed you again.

In an America controlled by wizards and 100 years behind on women’s rights, Beatrix Harper counts herself among the resistance—the Women’s League for the Prohibition of Magic. Then Peter Blackwell, the only wizard her town has ever produced, unexpectedly returns home and presses her into service as his assistant.
Beatrix fears he wants to undermine the League. His real purpose is far more dangerous for them both.
Subversive is the first novel in the Clandestine Magic trilogy, set in a warped 21st century that will appeal to fans of gaslamp fantasy.

“What a captivating story! From the very first line, ‘Wizards never came to Ellicott Mills anymore,’ I was intrigued. The characters, the complex and immersive plot, the unique magical world, the great use of symbols, the poignant themes, the references to mythology, the love story – I couldn’t get enough of it … Readers who enjoy fantasy stories with strong female protagonists, magical powers, intriguing political plots, and a great love story will love Subversive.” – One Book More

“A spectacular story of magic, politics, social classes, and the uncompromising need to do what you think is right.” – Bookshelf Adventures
