Six For Sunday — Recent additions to your TBR

Oh my word, the TBR. That ever growing list that would take four lifetimes to ever get through. I have tried cutting right back on arc reading commitments this year in an attempt to reduce the huge backlog of books that are not only on my TBR list but are also sitting on my ereader. Books that I have paid good money for, books by authors I love, books that *may* just have been sitting on my kindle for 2, 3 or more years. Yes I am hanging my head in shame.

I have made a very, very small dent in that pile, along with clearing a huge swathe of freebie books that I’m probably never going to pick up and read. Lets face it if I downloaded it back in July of 2017 and I still haven’t read the first few lines, I’m highly unlikely to ever do so.

Sometimes I feel like I can barely keep up with the new books released by the authors I read regularly, and for most of them I’m still attempting to catch up on their back list. Then I have friends who keep recommending new books and new authors to me. Are they trying to break me? It makes me wonder just how much of a friend they are when they are gleefully adding to my TBR mountain. Though I have found some amazing reads via these recommendations so I really shouldn’t complain.

Today’s “lets join in some fun” meme is #SixForSunday, hosted by A Little But a Lot. Each week a topic is posted, this weeks is to highlight 6 recent additions to my TBR list. Maybe it will inspire me to clear the list a little, either by reading them or encouraging me to remove them completely!

Recent Addition To Your TBR List

1. Omega Awakening (The Controllers #0.5) by L.V. Lane

This cover was enough to sell me on the book, along with the fact that it’s a fairy tale retelling. It was easy to decide on adding this since I already own a few of this series, those are currently languishing on my owned-and-must-read TBR list. A list that keeps getting bigger and bigger but which I have finally started to chisel away at. I feel quite proud that I’ve read a good 6 or 7 books from it so far this year, though at that rate it will be a century or two before it’s totally cleared. Hmm, must try harder.

If you’re unfamiliar with the genre, Omegaverse is a society based on the three dynamics that exist. Alpha’s are the dominants of the society, strong, fierce, aggressive. Beta’s are the workers, sometimes referred to as drones, the ones most similar to humans. Omega’s are physically weak but are the only ones able to breed with Alphas and accept the male’s knot. Most books in the genre were with MM pregnancy stories (not my cup of tea) or dark, dubious to non-consent M/f dystopian style stories, to which I say “Yes, please”. However the genre now spans all shades from light and airy through to dark and depraved, from settings that feel contemporary through to sci-fi settings, which is where The Controllers series comes in.

Omega Awakening, a dark Cinderella Omegaverse romance…
All things must end.
I learned that lesson the day my mother died.
My step-mother was wicked.
My step-sister, spiteful.
It was a relief when I revealed as an Omega because it was a chance to escape.
But it wasn’t the end of my troubles.
What happens to Omegas is a secret.
And my troubles had just begun.
“I can save you from one monster, Verity,” Lilly had said when she accepted me into the program. “But I cannot save you from them all.”
True to her word, she saved me from my step-mother.
Then Woodrow entered my life.

And I realized he was the other monster Lilly had warned me about.

2. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

My eye was caught by a review of this, by a friend, on Goodreads. It’s not a book that would have normally caught my eye but Meggie’s summation of the book, really captured my attention and had me one-clicking before I knew it. At 99p it didn’t seem to big a risk either.

From the author of Daisy Jones & The Six—an entrancing novel “that speaks to the Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor in us all” (Kirkus Reviews), in which a legendary film actress reflects on her relentless rise to the top and the risks she took, the loves she lost, and the long-held secrets the public could never imagine.

Aging and reclusive Hollywood movie icon Evelyn Hugo is finally ready to tell the truth about her glamorous and scandalous life. But when she chooses unknown magazine reporter Monique Grant for the job, no one is more astounded than Monique herself. Why her? Why now?

Monique is not exactly on top of the world. Her husband has left her, and her professional life is going nowhere. Regardless of why Evelyn has selected her to write her biography, Monique is determined to use this opportunity to jump start her career.

Summoned to Evelyn’s luxurious apartment, Monique listens in fascination as the actress tells her story. From making her way to Los Angeles in the 1950s to her decision to leave show business in the ‘80s, and, of course, the seven husbands along the way, Evelyn unspools a tale of ruthless ambition, unexpected friendship, and a great forbidden love. Monique begins to feel a very real connection to the legendary star, but as Evelyn’s story near its conclusion, it becomes clear that her life intersects with Monique’s own in tragic and irreversible ways.

3. Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy #1) by Richelle Mead

Recommended by the same friend as the previous book, this appealed due to her enthusiasm for how the book focused on female friendship. It clearly passes the Bechdel test and, judging by the number of reviews on Goodreads, is a very well known/popular author, though I’ve not heard of them before.

Only a true best friend can protect you from your immortal enemies . . .

Lissa Dragomir is a Moroi princess: a mortal vampire with a rare gift for harnessing the earth’s magic. She must be protected at all times from Strigoi; the fiercest vampires – the ones who never die. The powerful blend of human and vampire blood that flows through Rose Hathaway, Lissa’s best friend, makes her a dhampir. Rose is dedicated to a dangerous life of protecting Lissa from the Strigoi, who are hell-bent on making Lissa one of them.

After two years of freedom, Rose and Lissa are caught and dragged back to St. Vladimir’s Academy, a school for vampire royalty and their guardians-to-be, hidden in the deep forests of Montana. But inside the iron gates, life is even more fraught with danger . . . and the Strigoi are always close by.

Rose and Lissa must navigate their dangerous world, confront the temptations of forbidden love, and never once let their guard down, lest the evil undead make Lissa one of them forever . .

4. Chasing Her Lion (Big Bad Bunnies, #6) by Golden Angel

Who can resist a book with the subtitle of Big Bad Bunnies? Golden Angel is a nerdy, Harry Potter loving, cos-play fan so you can imagine how quirky and irreverent her humour is. I’ve read many of this authors more contemporary work, and some darker work, written under the pen name of Sinistre Ange.

Sometimes all a lion shifter wants is a snuggly bunny to cuddle. And Kasim has been stalking his very kissable prey with the patience of a true hunter. But as the perfect moment to pounce arrives, life throws some obstacles in Kasim’s path and his hopes for something more with a certain some-bunny are dashed quite possibly forever.

The last of her siblings to find a partner, bunny shifter Bailey Bunson has been waiting for her fated mate. But when her dream of predestined love is ripped from her grasp, Bailey fears she’ll never know her own happily-ever-after. That is, until she realizes the unassuming lion shifter who’s been by her side might not be her fated mate, but is everything she’s ever wanted. Will it be too late for Bailey and Kasim?

5. Darkness: The Complete Series (Darkness #1-4) by Nora Ash

Another recommendation by a Goodreads friend, this ticks so many of my boxes that it just HAD to go on my TBR list. Nora Ash is one of the more widely known names from the world of indie publishing. A world where the books are every bit as good, if not even better, than more traditionally published stories.

Two mortal enemies rule this city – and I belong to them both

I once fawned at the supernatural beings in our city. I marveled at their powers and praised them for saving us from murderers, rapists and arsonists.
Then I met him. The city’s most prominent superhuman. Its favored hero.
He saved my life. And then… then he marked me as his pet and taught me that in St. Anthony, there are no such things as heroes.
But with his claim, he caught the attention of everything that is dark and twisted in this city. Their eyes are on me now, and one of them will stop at nothing to take what belongs to his enemy.
Especially me.

No human woman can survive two powerful beings using her body as their battleground, but my city is doomed, corruption eating away at its very core. If I want to save it, I’ll have to submit to both the men determined to own me.
Breed me.

6. Clockwork Stalker (The Dirty Heroes Collection, #7) by Cari Silverwood

The final book recently added to my TBR is different from the rest in two ways. First of all it hasn’t actually been released yet, and secondly I’ve been involved in beta reading the book. This is a gaslight paranormal tale, with some darker elements scattered throughout. There is just something so delicious about a good man who occasionally looses control of the dark and deviant side brought out by exposure to malignant energy. That his victim in this, the wonderfully kinky Willa Moriarty, quietly enjoys his debauched demands only adds to the fun.

What if the storybook hero becomes the villain?

She is my arch enemy’s niece.
I am an arrogant, controlling bastard, an excellent detective, and women are turning up dead and bound, with strange marks on their bodies.
This is the least appropriate time for me to fall in lust with the enemy.
Obsession is the sign of a man who is losing control.

Be punctual for this appointment, Miss Moriarty.

I have things I need to do. Filthy, perverted things.

Note: This is a standalone Dark Romance.

Review //\\ Breaking the Chains

Breaking the Chain
(Stronghold Doms, #4)
by Golden Angel

The Stronghold Doms is a wonderful series about a group of friends who all attend (or end up attending) a BDSM club. In Breaking the Chain we get to know the story of Leigh, best friend to the heroine of Book 1, and Jared, an original member of the group. This pair connect through their mutual unhappy love lives. Jared having been in a fairly toxic relationship whilst Leigh’s ex had an early mid-life crisis. Having invested years of their lives in relationships that have recently failed, both are understandably cautious about jumping into a new one with both feet.

I found both main characters to be very believable, their reactions, their fears, their responses and decisions all felt very natural and realistic. It was very easy to buy into their growing connection and scorching hot chemistry. There is no unnecessary angst or drama in the story in terms of the main characters and their relationship. There’s plenty of upset caused by Marissa, a total drama queen who only wants what she can no longer have. However Jared and Leigh don’t let this impact on their relationship and I liked that the author demonstrated how a mature couple navigate the turbulence that life often throws into our pathways.

I maybe felt the pace was a little slow at times, though none of the story felt like idle filler used to add pages rather than content. Overall the writing is very strong, Golden Angel portrays very realistic kink relationships, even if the fact that they are all great friends, all into BDSM and have a club on their doorstep is a little stretch on reality. Leigh and Jarad’s was almost more of a DD relationship than a truly kinky one, the play never extending much past spankings and making it ideal if you are new or less enthused by the genre but want to sample this author’s work.

One of the real great strengths of the Stronghold Doms series is just how stand alone each story is. Sometimes there is a slight overlap in the timeline of books, and if you start with the latest there will definitely be a few minor spoilers for earlier books. This is a great series of reads that I am more than happy to recommend.

Come and meet the Stronghold Doms…

Jared and Leigh both know what it’s like to be trapped in a seven year relationship where they give more than they get, the question is whether or not they can move on from them.

Two steps forward, one step back. That’s how Jared’s life feels when it comes to his ex Marissa. Every time he thinks he’s escaped the vortex of her emotional demands, she ends up sucking him right back in; but for the first time, he thinks he might have the strength to pull free entirely. At least he hopes so. Right now it just seems like he’s hurting everyone around him and he doesn’t know how to make it right.

Leigh Douglas spent seven years with the man she thought she would one day marry, but she’s now realized that she needs him to fight just as hard for her as she always fought for him. Since he won’t, she’s working on getting over him and finding someone who won’t take her for granted. On the other side of the equation, she’s definitely falling for Jared, but he’s still entangled with his ex. No one can understand the hooks that Marissa has in him like Leigh can, but that doesn’t mean that she’s willing to take the back-seat again in another relationship.

As Jared tries to side-step his ex and Leigh takes her first steps into the domination and submission-filled world of the Stronghold club, their friends hold a collective breath as everyone wonders whose heart will be broken in the end.

This is a full-length character driven BDSM romance with hot scenes and a HEA. It can be read on its own, although is more fulfilling when read as part of the Stronghold series. Breaking the Chain is approximately 93k words long.

Black Light: Defended by Golden Angel is LIVE!!!

MY REVIEW – 4.5 stars

Don’t be put off by the Daddy Dom/ little girl theme

If you’re thinking about reading this book the chances are you are either a Golden Angel fan or love the Black Light series. If like me you love them BOTH, then you are in for one heck of a treat. The author has written a DD/lg romance that can be enjoyed by those who both love the genre and those who don’t mind BDSM but aren’t so sure if it’s their thing (either in reality or in reading material).

Melody is very much a people pleaser and does come across as a bit of a doormat at times. HOWEVER that is very much a deliberate move by the author and is integral to the plot of the book. Kawan is very definitely a Daddy Dom but has been burnt before and occasionally struggles to totally trust Melody’s motives. So we get to see both characters grow and develop as the story unfolds, and what a fantastic story it is.

Defended is very much a contemporary romance, and is about two people with very specific needs and desires learning how to fit those into a relationship that works for them both. Melody is a newbie to the scene but knows she has certain ‘interests’, Kawan is very aware of what he needs in a relationship. I loved how he never overwhelmed Melody, he was almost over concerned that he didn’t influence her choices and decisions, and that made me love him all the more. Kawan punished where necessary but first and foremost cared for and respected Melody.

The story contains a variety of BDSM scenes, some at home and some at the Black Light club. And yes, the author did go there with diaper play but in such a way that (a) it wasn’t difficult to read if it’s not your thing and (b) in such a way that we could understand why it can be enjoyable – even for those who aren’t ‘baby littles’. The scene almost felt educational albeit in a scorching hot ‘I hope no one is reading this over my shoulder’ kind of way.

It was a gentler read than the author’s Stronghold series, though no less enthralling. Given the power exchange dynamic I truly believe it needed that softer touch. I knew a BL book by Golden Angel would be good – but I really didn’t guess it would be this good.

For Melody Williams, her fantasy of a Daddy Dom has always been limited to the books she devours in secret. But when a trip to Black Light brings dominant men out of her imagination and into real life, Melody quickly falls for everything about this exciting new world, including a certain gorgeous lawyer on whom she has a very serious crush.

Kawan Park joined Black Light in the hopes of finding his perfect Little Girl. He never expected to meet her in the courtroom first. But once Melody is no longer off-limits as his client, he’ll stop at nothing to make her his when all bets are off at the club.

Despite their instant connection, meddling friends and the stresses of life will threaten Melody and Kawan’s happily-ever-after. Can the pair negotiate a bond that will work, or will Melody crumble under the stress of her newfound lifestyle and leave her dream Daddy undefended?

It’s time to train!

Marriage Training by Golden Angel is LIVE!!!

A very steamy, erotic historical romance

Marriage Training is the story of Gabriel, Earl of Cranborne, and the impoverished Vivian. Gabriel is envious of his friend’s submissive but sexually enlightened wife-to-be. At their wedding he spots Vivian and is instantly entranced by her submissive demeanour and beautiful countenance.

A few months later Vivian is attending the exclusive Mrs. Cunningham’s Finishing School, where she is learning how to be the perfect debutante and wife. On her 18th birthday she discovers that her place there has been sponsored by Gabriel, and what’s more they are betrothed to be married. Not only that but she is to embark on some ‘special’ training, where she will learn of the very specific requirements the Earl has for his bride.

What follows is a very erotic story involving a LOT of punishment scenes as well as some BDSM and domestic discipline scenes, many of which involve an FF element. These were incredibly hot and well written, none of them left a sour taste or felt crude. They did occasionally feel a tad repetitive, I’m not sure we needed quite as many as we had. It did make sections of the book drag a little for me. However if you love lots of steamy sexy times that won’t be an issue for you!

I loved the scenes between Gabriel and Vivian, particularly the dinner and ‘PG’ scenes. This was when we really got to see the relationship between them develop, where their attraction and love grew. These scenes were what convinced me of their connection, and what also made me fall in love with them both. This is where I felt I really learnt about them as people too.

This was a much steamier and erotic read than the authors previous historical work, though it was much more consensual than similar stories from the ‘Victorian Training’ trope. The writing is high quality, the plot engaging and the characters very likeable, making this a very enjoyable book to read.

Set in Victorian England, this erotic BDSM novel features a courtship between a young woman and a dashing rake.

Gabriel, Earl of Cranborne, is in need of a wife–preferably a sweet, submissive, well-trained wife who could run his household during the day and obey him in the bedroom at night. When he meets Miss Vivian Stafford at a friend’s wedding, he finds himself drawn in by the exact traits he was looking for in his own wife and immediately moves to make her his own. Once the betrothal papers are signed, he arranges for her to attend Mrs. Cunningham’s Finishing School. This very special school will prepare her to be the wife of an Earl . . . and also prepare for her the very specific demands and discipline she’ll receive from her new husband at night.

Pride & Punishment – Golden Angel

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 1/2

Pride & Punishment is a box set of the first three books from the Bridal Discipline series. It contains two full length novels and a bridging novella, all of which are historical romances that contains scenes of domestic discipline and spanking.

The first gem in this set is Philip’s Rules, the story of the Marquess of Dunbury and his bride, Cordelia. Cordelia is guardian to a step-daughter from her brief first marriage to a much older man. Gabrielle, the headstrong and spirited young lady in question, is the heroine of the other two books, Undisciplined and Gabrielle’s Discipline.

Philip’s Rules – 4 stars

A spin off from the Domestic Discipline quartet, this has a feel all of it’s own

Whilst there is still domestic discipline within the pages of this book, this had a much more erotically kinky feel to it. Cordelia, as a widow, might not have been a virgin, but Philip took great delight in corrupting her innocence anywhere and everywhere he could!

Having read the very entertaining Domestic Discipline series, it was really good to catch some glimpses of Eleanor, Edwin, Irene, Hugh, Cynthia, Wesley, Grace and Alex again. However you don’t need to have read any of those books to understand and enjoy this one.

I loved both main characters, they were so very likeable and made a really adorable couple. The author really convinced me of the connection they shared and of how much personal growth Cordelia underwent. The entire story is an absolute delight to read, it’s a fairly long book but at no point did it drag or get boring. The author just had one heck of a good story to convey and it simply wouldn’t have been done justice in any fewer words.

I feel the need to warn you that this story contains punishment spankings, carried out by the hero on both Cordelia and her step-daughter Gabrielle. If that is liable to offend you then this may not be the book for you, I hate seeing reviews on this type of book referring to ‘beatings’ and ‘violence’ against the women when (a) that isn’t the case and (b) the book warns you about the content. Whilst Cordelia didn’t enjoy the actual spanking, she did accept and give consent to the discipline, so if you’re new to the genre I feel this is an ideal book to ‘experiment’ with (and boy there’s some smokin’ hot experimenting within these pages!)

Undisciplined – 4.5 stars

Undisciplined in my mind is very much a bridging book between Philip’s Rules and Gabrielle’s Discipline or a prequella to the latter story. This contains scenes from Philip’s Rules , but from Gabrielle and Felix’s point of views, rather than Cordelia and Philip’s.

I loved the truths the book revealed about this couple and their struggles. It cleverly alters your perspective of Gabrielle, who previously appeared quite cruel and selfish at times. By the end of this I’d gone from disliking the girl to being her biggest supporter.

Whilst quite short, Undisciplined is also a really engaging and well written story that provides the perfect set up for Gabrielle and Felix’s story in book #2 of the Bridal Discipline series.

Gabrielle’s Discipline – 5 stars

This was a delightful read, multifaceted and touching on some fairly deep emotional/psychological issues. The more you get to know her, the more you fall in love with the vulnerable and emotionally fragile Gabrielle. However she is also a minx of the first order and has a fire inside her that gets her into lots of trouble!

Felix was the perfect man for her, dark, a little broody but also very observant and quick to pick up on his wife’s emotions. I loved that he wasn’t Peter Perfect. Not only did he freely admit his short-comings but by tempering his responses to Gabrielle he demonstrated both fairness to and respect for her. That isn’t to say he didn’t spank her poor behind when she needed it, but he did so with such tender love and reverence that I could only swoon at his feet.

There’s was a rather sudden marriage so unsurprisingly there are several ups and downs along the way. They both used these as learning experiences, so even though Felix was ‘in charge’, theirs felt a much more equal partnership. Well apart from in the bedroom, or where ever Felix decided to play, but since Gabrielle enjoyed his kinky tortures that wasn’t an issue!

The scenes that included Cynthia and Arabella were huge fun. Would well brought up Victorian young ladies really have gossiped so and discussed such delicate matters? I have no idea, but surely we women haven’t changed that much over the years, so I rather like to think they might have.

From the very outset you can’t help but root for Felix and Gabrielle, she so very much deserves to be loved and cherished and he is just the man to provide that for her. This is my favourite historical spanking romance book of the ones that I’ve read. Bravo Ms Angel.

This box set contains the first three books of the Bridal Discipline series –

Philip’s Rules: Cordelia’s determined to be the perfect wife, but her stepdaughter from her first marriage is just as determined to undermine her every step of the way. His method of correction for both Cordelia and Gabrielle isn’t what either lady expected, but Cordelia finds confidence in his support and care of her and love begins to bloom.

Undisciplined – A Novella: Gabrielle is used to being a burden, and when her stepmother finds a new husband she knows that’s exactly what she is to both of them. She’s prepared to marry anyone, to try and grasp for what happiness she can find, and no longer be underfoot of the happy couple. This novella was written at the request of readers who wanted to know what was happening between Felix and Gabrielle during Book 1 of the Bridal Discipline series.

Gabrielle’s Discipline: To escape the scandal of trying to elope with an unworthy man, Gabrielle finds herself married to the man she loves – a charming rake and her guardian’s best friend, Mr. Felix Hood. He’s the third son of a Viscount, he’s darkly handsome, and he’s in love with her stepmother. Or so she thinks.

These two alpha males have their hands full when it comes to their wives, but they don’t hesitate to mete out the necessary discipline required. Red-hot, passionate, and a guaranteed happily-ever-after for everyone.

5 stars – This is a book I will not forget and would definitely read again.

4 stars – I really enjoyed this book, I might not read it again but I would definitely recommend it to others.

3 stars – This story was good but either forgettable or just very typical of its genre.

2 stars – Whilst the book was readable I either didn’t enjoy parts of the plot or just could not connect to the main characters.

1 star – This is a book I simply could not finish for reasons listed in the review.

Domestic Discipline, anyone?

The Domestic Discipline Quartet from Golden Angel is AVAILABLE NOW!

Birching His Bride –  5 stars

This is both a hot read but also has a pretty decent story line too

The books title and the series title warn you what to expect, so if domestic discipline (man spanking woman for bad behaviour) will rile you then don’t read this. However if you love a well written historical romance, with some DD and a few kinky scenes then jump right in.

I felt like I devoured this book and totally adored both Edwin and Eleanor. I felt on edge at first, courtesy of the fab writing that pulled me into the story and made me feel Eleanor’s anxiety and worries of not being enough for Edwin.

The modern woman in me wanted to rail at the injustice of her basically having no say in her own life, but that was how it was. Once I let go of my modern day expectations I found I really relaxed into the read and was quite shocked when I got to the epilogue. I needed so much more, especially since we were barely at a HFN point! Thankfully the whole quartet of books is now available, so I don’t have to wait to continue Edwin and Eleanor’s story, whist also starting to learn more about her brother Hugh and his new bride Irene!

Dealing With Discipline – 4.5 stars

A wonderful read

This is a continuation of Edwin and Eleanor’s story (from Birching His Bride) though it also follows her brother Hugh, and his bride Irene. The book is written third person, so it’s very easy to follow which POV you are reading. The writing is engaging and I really felt the emotions, particularly Eleanor’s and Irene’s. I flew through the story and my only disappointment is that it ended.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will be diving straight into the next one, where I’m hoping Edwin finally realises just what it is that Eleanor wants from him! I am absolutely smitten with this couple, and love reading about their battle of wills. Irene and Hugh are also a magnificent couple, their characters were very distinct from Edwin and Eleanor as is their relationship dynamic. That said the girls both end up with very sore, red bottoms 😉

I highly recommend this series to those who love spanking romances and historical romances.

Punishing His Ward – 4.25 stars

This is the third book of the quartet and really needs to be read after book #1 (Birching His Bride) and book #2 (Dealing With Discipline) . This is the continuation of both Eleanor & Edwin’s story, as well as Hugh & Irene’s. In addition we have the tale of Wesley & Cynthia. All three couples are delightful, and the women in particular have very distinct and rounded personalities. Due to the inclusion of scenes between the other couples, Wesley and Cynthia’s story did feel somewhat rushed. Their part was very reminiscent of reading a novella, which in effect it was if you removed the none-C&W parts.

However that didn’t stop me from being engaged by, and enjoying the book. I adore Eleanor and it’s fun seeing all the coupes and how they interact. There are some wonderfully ‘naughty’ scenes and plenty of spanked bottoms! Cynthia has a real wild child, I loved her ‘don’t care’ attitude and progressive outlook. I’d love to see more of her getting up to mischief and leading Wesley on a wild chase!

I’ve totally adored the series so far and can’t wait to read Grace and Alex’s story.

Claiming His Wife – 5 stars

A thrillingly hot conclusion to this wonderful quartet of books and couples!

I totally adored this last book, I swooned at how Eleanor finally got her answer, I enjoyed catching up with them all and I LOVED the achingly beautiful reunion of Grace and Alex.

The books are unusual in that each one has added more and more point of views, yet never once did I struggle to follow the plot or to know which character I was ‘hearing’. Excellent writing, plenty of red hot spanking (and beyond) scenes, wonderful characters and an amazing plot made reading this book – and indeed the whole quartet – an absolute delight.

If you love spanking/Domestic Discipline stories, historical romances or just a darn good sexy read then I highly recommend this series. It’s well worth investing your time, money and heart in.

Wesley and Cynthia continue to be outrageously risque and love pushing not only each others boundaries, but those of polite society too. Irene continues to grow and blossom under Hugh’s loving disciplinarian care, with her years of ingrained conditioning to break through. Edwin and Eleanor continue to lead the way with their uncaring total adoration of the other.

Grace and Alex, oh my Grace and Alex, this pair will put you through the emotional wringer. Both have their faults and make mistakes, but through out I still cared massively about both of them. They needed their heartbreaking journey in order to build the solid foundation they had never truly possessed before. It made all the sadness, hurt and anger so much more worthwhile.

I’m not always a fan of epilogues, so many times they feel forced and unnecessary, but this one was perfect. It tied the story together with a beautiful bow. Bravo Ms Angel on a wonderful series of books!

Birching His Bride – Eleanor knows exactly what kind of man she wants to marry, and Lord Hyde doesn’t fit the description at all. Unfortunately, he has his own plans for their future.

Dealing with Discipline – Irene has always loved her childhood friend Lord Brooke… how can she possibly make a marriage with Viscount Petersham work? And why does her husband’s mere touch make her heart beat faster if she loves Lord Brooke?

Punishing His Ward – Wesley, Earl of Spencer, has always been a rogue and a scoundrel… but he’s met his match in his ward, the lovely and unrepetant Miss Cynthia Bryant. Suddenly he finds himself in the role of stern guardian – and he’s starting to think very unguardian-like thoughts.

Claiming His Wife – Lord and Lady Brooke are the scandal of the ton, having lived separately for years. When her estranged husband turns up on her doorstep, Grace assumes that Alex has finally come to his senses and is ready to be rid of her through divorce… but Alex wants his wife back and he’s ready to do whatever he must to reconcile with her.

Four alpha males with hard hands to mete out stern discipline to their sassy and stubborn wives, these four couples have friendships and romances for the ages.

About Angel

Angel is a self-described bibliophile with a “kinky” bent who loves to write stories for the characters in her head. If she didn’t get them out, she’s pretty sure she’d go just a little crazy.

She is happily married, old enough to know better but still too young to care, and a big fan of happily-ever-afters, strong heroes and heroines, and sizzling chemistry.

She believes the world is a better place when there’s a little magic in it.
