The Romance Plan (Cupid #5) by Lila Monroe

If you’re looking for a delightful, sexy and funny read then look no further.  The Romance Plan is everything you need.

Eliza and Liam’s story was just the perfect read for a sunny, relaxed day. I adored both main characters, they were incredibly easy to like and very well written. We even saw Liam, in particular, undergo personal growth. There are some great secondary characters and we even get to see some old friends though, if you haven’t read any other Cupid books, this does read completely stand alone.

The heat level is high and we get a perfect amount of angst filled will they/won’t they to balance the fun and humour. Once we reach the “oh yes they will” stage then things really take off and I was buoyed along by the story, enjoying every moment of it. This was what I would term a “no effort” read. That is to say the writing flows smoothly and took was easy to read, I never struggled to know who was talking or what was happening. I left me feeling warm, happy and comfortable and is a romantic comedy that I’m only too happy to recommend.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

I need a happily-ever-after — and fast. I finally landed my dream job as a book editor when our new boss announces that the company is about to go bust.
Our only hope? Getting a famously eccentric romance author to deliver her new novel.. eight years overdue. Oh, and that infuriating, arrogant new CEO? Turns out he’s the mysterious guy who made out with me in the street last night, leaving my head spinning, and my other parts…
Well, let’s just say, I won’t be needing my e-reader for inspiration alone in bed tonight.
I can’t figure out if I want to slap his infuriatingly handsome face — or kiss it senseless, but either way, we’re stuck working together to magic a bestseller out of thin air. And maybe it’s the late nights, or the steamy material, but Liam isn’t the snooty jerk I thought.
Soon, our chemistry is sizzling out of control. But can we find our happily-ever-after, or will we burn out before the final chapter?

Day #15 – A billionaire

I’m not the biggest fan of the billionaire trope. Particularly NOT when it is also paired with my other least favourite – the virgin trope. Just how many Sold/ Claimed/Captured by the Billionaire books can be written? A lot is the answer.

However one book featuring a billionaire that I didn’t object to, and in fact I enjoyed, was Best Man by Lila Monroe. It’s a wonderfully written, full of laughs romantic comedy.

Can’t Wait Wednesday – The Romance Plan

Lila Monroe is an author who can be relied on to deliver a well written romantic comedy, with engaging characters and lots of laughs along the way. The Romance Plan will be releasing in a few days and I’m looking forward to reading it. All her books can easily be read standalone, the story for that couple is completed within the book.

Review // The Break-Up Artist

The Break-Up Artist (Cupids #4) by Lila Monroe

The Break-Up Artist is a fun and heart warming second chance rom-com. Katie and Wes were both very likeable, easy to believe in characters, and I loved that Selena was neither entitled or bitchy. The author created a cast of characters that together added depth and colour to the story.

Second-chances are a guilty pleasure of mine, some are better than others. In this one I liked that their original break-up wasn’t cliched. Both played a part in it and though Wes really hadn’t come out of it with any honour he DID acknowledge his mistakes and show contrition. In fact the whole plot line avoided the usual cliches and was very much about BOTH characters growth and learning.

The story is quite slow burn, which worked well with the plot line, but once the chemistry ignited this pair certainly burned hot. I found it easy to believe in their connection and emotions, and really enjoyed reading their story. This isn’t my favourite book by this author but it was still a very pleasant way to spend a few hours.

I’m an expert in break-ups. From the slow fade, to extreme ghosting, to, ‘but you never said I couldn’t send pics of my junk to your step-sister on Instagram’ – I’ve seen it all… and built a mini-empire along the way. My blog, the Break-Up Artist, uses my past heartache to help people move on – and avoid weeping on the floor at 3am consuming their body weight in spray cheese and Oreos. Ahem.
Now, I have a new job that could mean the big-time: helping a famous Hollywood it-couple navigate their tricky break-up. Except not everyone wants them Splitsville. The movie studio needs to keep them together to promote their big movie, and they’ve sent someone to make sure I fail in my first VIP gig.
Wes Baxter. Also known as my ex.
Also ALSO known as, the guy who broke my heart so thoroughly, I had to turn myself into a self-help guru just to get over him.
I’m determined to follow my own advice (no drooling over Wes’s perfect abs, or remembering how he rocked my world) but being trapped together at a luxe country retreat isn’t helping things… And neither is Wes’s early-morning naked swim habit. Soon, love is in the air, the sparks between us are hotter than ever, and I’m seriously questioning my ‘no backsies’ policy.

Wes swears he’s changed. He wants to try again, and he’s got an annoyingly sexy way of convincing me. But can second chances really work? Or has the Break-Up Artist finally met her match?
