Can’t Wait Wednesday

Can’t Wait Wednesday

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted over at Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine.

This is the first week I’ve joined in with this meme, and I’m featuring a book that isn’t out yet, but that I have read. I was fortunate enough to be a beta reader on the book, though completed it in chunks in between reading other books. This always leaves me wanting to do an uninterrupted read through, which I am planning on doing today (and tomorrow).

This is a gaslamp story, which is a more paranormal version of steampunk. Full steampunk didn’t fit the setting, but some degree of both wondrously impossible machinery and sinister malignant forces were needed. Part of the Dirty Heroes Collection, a series of standalone books, where each story features a fictional hero turned bad by outside forces, Clockwork Stalker features a very sexy, very dirty Sherlock Holmes. Picture Benedict Cumberbatch but with a darker, edgier, kinkier personality, a need to dominate the heroine and see her submit to his will. I don’t know about you but that just makes my spine tingle and nerves shiver with delight.

Clockwork Stalker (The Dirty Heroes Collection #7) by Cari Silverwood

What if the storybook hero becomes the villain?

She is my arch enemy’s niece.
I am an arrogant, controlling bastard, an excellent detective, and women are turning up dead and bound, with strange marks on their bodies.
This is the least appropriate time for me to fall in lust with the enemy.
Obsession is the sign of a man who is losing control.

Be punctual for this appointment, Miss Moriarty.

I have things I need to do. Filthy, perverted things.

Note: This is a standalone Dark Romance.

Oh yes, I can’t wait for this delicious morsel of kinky depravity to be unleashed on the world. Cari Silverwood is an outstanding author with a refreshingly unique and captivating writing voice. I can not recommend her books highly enough, though I do advise caution if you are easily offended or like your heroines sweet and your heroes polite.
