• JAMES – S Cinders

    ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ – 4 Stars

Hot, action packed and exciting, this well written book will hold your attention from start to finish

James is set 20ish years after Finn . Whilst you could read it stand alone, I would recommend reading the first book so that you fully understand the background to this story. It’s not a hardship as both books are fun, hot and entertaining reads. This book totally drew me in and I found myself reading late into the night, wanting to finish it. Exhaustion won out, but I grabbed it the next morning and devoured the last few chapters STAT.

The book starts halfway through Ella and James escaping from the GMU. Alone, afraid and with Ella seriously hurt James takes a stranger up on his offer of help. That stranger and his business partner are familiar faces from book #1. Along with the help of some co-workers they teach James and Ella some of the things they need to know in life.

We then get a period of time in the book where the relationship developed between James and Ella. Given the setting they were in, and the lifestyle they were exposed to, it wasn’t surprising how quickly it evolved into a very explosive sexual situation. What follows are some incredibly hot scenes, including some BDSM play and exhibitionism. Whilst these scenes flow incredibly well, and the passion between James and Ella was very believable, after a little reflection time I see a few ‘faults in the pattern’ and have a few ‘I wish that…’ moments.

As genetically modified and highly intelligent lycans, I can sort of accept that James and Ella quickly adapted to a world they had never encountered before BUT they seemed to do it far to seamlessly and easily. And whilst the sex-club element of the story allowed for some incredibly steamy sex scenes, it felt like that was it’s only purpose. For me it didn’t actually develop the plot in any way. I liked that we had a ‘quiet’ period of time where James and Ella were free to explore their connection, but unnecessary sex scenes distracted from this.

We then get a situation that leads to a total change in the lives of many of the books characters. Personally I would have preferred LESS of a focus on James and Ella’s time at Club Lycan and more detail on the following year. Having followed the pair of them at this time, as they prepared for the trials ahead of them, would have transformed this from a very good to a truly great book. But again, that’s ‘me’ and my preference, it’s why for me this was 4 stars rather than 5. It’s still a good book, and better than many others out there.

The author has some amazing ideas and the twists and turns we got in the last quarter of the book left my head spinning. My word the pace was break-neck speed at some points, though clever writing allows you to easily keep up. Then you get to the end, which is a cliff-hanger, not a total tear your hair out cliffie, but definitely a ‘when’s the next book up?’ one.

So if you enjoy steamy, NA, paranormal, action-packed romance then this is perfect for you.

Ella and James have been prisoners of a madman ever since they were stolen from their mothers at birth. They were raised in a top-secret facility and genetically modified to be the fastest, strongest, and most powerful Lycan assassins on Earth.

After escaping, they find themselves thrust into the outside world with no life experience and only one another to rely on. Suddenly, they are faced with choices they are ill-equipped to deal with: lust, alcohol, crime, and murder… to name but a few.

Publisher’s Note: This steamy fantasy shifter romance contains elements of power exchange.

“Afraid to get up close and personal with a dragon without sticking your sword in it?”

    Lysanda, Iron & Fire

Oh Lydander and Eroan, you can stick your swords in me any day! I don’t think I’ve read such an incredibly sexy yet tortured pair. This is a classic tale of love against the divide, set against a background of war and survival. You don’t just read this book, you step into it’s pages, touch the soil of the forest, soar the air on leathery wings, hide in the ramshackle shelters, feel the heat of the fire and smell the scent of hope, despair and love.

Pippa Dacosta (Ariana Nash) is the most evil of authors, delighting in the pain and suffering of her characters. The pain, hurt and trials she put Eroan through were bad enough, but I might never forgive her for how she tortured Lysander. I’m just hoping, to quote Yoda,
“Only through fire is a strong sword forged.”
‘Cos, boy, did Lysander get thrown into the fires of hell, again and again and again.

Save him. Like he saved us.
The seconds raced along with him and he feared, with every beat of his heart, that he was already too late.

    Eroan, Fire & Iron

We get some wonderful moments between Eroan and Lysander, though boy do they fight tooth and claw to either avoid them or to get to them. Eroan in particular struggles with his feelings for and attraction to Lysander, after all his whole life has been dedicated to the destruction of dragons, not loving them.

“What is this thing between us?”

“You come alive in my hands…” Lysander breathed, setting free the words he’d so long wanted to speak.

This is a story of epic proportions, the plot unfolding, twisting and morphing so that just as one obstacle is overcome another 5 arise in its place. The lies, the deceit, the pigheaded ignorance and jealousy – and that was just amongst the elves! If it hadn’t been for Seraph and Trey I’d have encouraged Eroan to find a warm cave, on a nice secluded mountainside, that he and Lysander could live out their days in. Nye needs stabbing in the eye with a sharp stick! So jealous that he refused to see the truth that was in front of his eyes. So stuck in his ways that he could never see another path. Despite Lysander showing his heart again and again.

He was fairly certain this decision would get him killed but there was nothing and no one else he’d gladly die for.

    Lysander, Iron & Fire

It was much more subtle but we also started to learn more about the dragons. There were definitely breadcrumbs there, that will no doubt become glaringly obvious beacons on a second read through after the series is complete! I always suspected there was more to Carline than we had been told, but I was at least a galaxy away from guessing the actual truth. Hmm, perhaps I need to read Silk & Steel for clues I’m sure will be there. Just what are those secrets you hold so close to your chest, Akiem? What does it mean to be Emerald?

I loved every moment spent in this book, even though I had my heart and soul wrenched out and smashed to smithereens repeatedly. The next book can’t come soon enough!

He was afraid, he realized. Not of them,..not anymore. Nothing back there could hurt him. He was afraid of himself and what he was becoming – what he needed to become to survive the war to come.

    Lysander, Iron & Steel

Alliances are forged and broken, friendships shattered, and despite the odds stacked against them, two hearts collide in this explosive sequel to Silk & Steel.

From his mother’s cage to a human one, but Lysander’s captors are the least of his concerns. Rumors of a monstrous bronze dragon ripple through human camps, a dragon tearing great holes in the world as though searching for something… or someone.

It’s just a matter of time before the bronze chief, Dokul, finds Lysander and makes good on his promises. And should he find him, Lysander knows Dokul will not be merciful.

Amidst the greatest of elven victories, Eroan failed. Failed his people, failed himself, and failed the dragon who saved him. But he will not falter. The dragonkin are in disarray, there will never be a greater opportunity to strike. Eroan Ilanea will not fail his people again.

But when rumors of the dragon prince’s survival reach him, he must choose: Fight for his people or fight for the prince who nobody thought to save?

    A Romantic Suspense

    ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

OMG Yolanda Olson, you broke me!

At the moment I just… I just can’t. I need to lie me down in a darkened room, sob quietly and then go to one heck of a lot of counselling.

You spend most of this book a little bit confused, but just persevere – it is SO worth it! The entire tone of the book is just so eerie and sinister and it totally had me hooked. Gareth and Bentlee are such a unique and engaging couple, even if their love is edging on taboo. Avoid spoilers at all costs, and ‘go in blind’. It’s the only way to full enjoy and appreciate the story to its maximum potential.

Martyris is a fairly short read, it took me less than an hour to complete it. Whilst I would have loved it to have been longer, I’m not sure if it would have then had the same impact. I would have liked to know a little more about who Lynette was, it was a strange bit of information thrown in that didn’t really belong anywhere.

Wow, just, but, wow – mind blown Ms Olson. Congratulations and bloody well done.

This. This is some dark messed-up shit. Stay away if rape, abuse and torture of the heroine would trigger you. For those of you as depraved as me – welcome!

I’m going to start by letting you know that this story was previously published in the ‘When The Dark Wins‘ anthology, and is unchanged from that version.

We first heard about Beth from conversations between Marcus and Anthony, in Security Binds Her. We also know from later books in that series there is somewhat of a positive uplift in her story. Knowing that made this much easier to read, even though it doesn’t end happily or nicely in any way, shape or form. Remember it is DARK! There is no light at the end of this tunnel, at least not yet.

You will love Beth, you will want to marry her and have her children, regardless of your gender or sexuality. You will hate Anthony with a passion, and Marcus only a little less. In fact Anthony is pretty damn scary, his lack of soul was so incredibly well portrayed. He is evil beyond comprehension, so remove from any humanity that he doesn’t fully understand why his actions with Beth aren’t working.

I absolutely LOVED this story and am so excited to know that we will be getting more of Beth’s story later this year. I will be one clicking that as soon as it’s available.

    Blurb
It would take time. Time to destroy who she used to be… time for all her hope to die… time to truly make her a thing.

    But he would.

Anthony took Beth to remake her into the perfect toy for his customers. Mindless, obedient, a broken thing without complications.

    But Beth is strong.

She refuses to break, refuses to let Anthony erase her… even if that means losing in the end.

  • How do I describe this book, and series? Well it’s a mash-up of paranormal, zombie apocalypse (without the zombies but with rabid immortals instead) and rom-com.

    So a very run-of-the-mill book,  not 😉.

The Immortal Matchmakers books can be read stand-alone, though there is also a story arch that runs throughout the series. Having read only two of the five books (this and book #4), I can tell you from personal experience that you quickly pick up the threads that run throughout them all, plus there is a glossary of characters at the back of the book to help you keep all those Gods, Goddesses and other Immortal Beings in order. Well possibly all of them except Cimil, no one’s keeping her in order!

If you read this (and you really should) you will be getting a REALLY fun read that will have you giggling at it’s silliness – including all the very many ‘bee’ puns. It’s also very well written, incredibly snarky, has a really engaging story, some unexpected twists and turns and a lot of sexual frustration followed by some scorching hot sex. Outside. Against a truck at one point.

[He] was like an immortal manly soup that nourished her down to the tips of her golden hair.

As with a lot of paranormal books this is written in the third person, which is definitely needed since we get the view point of several different characters, including some from previous books. Again you really don’t need to have read those books, the author cleverly weaves information into this so that you can keep up with the story. It also means you don’t need to re-read previous books to keep up with the plot. That said most of the book focuses on Colel, her massive attraction to Rys and all the obstacles that the Universe (who was either more sadistic than ever, or the damned woman had finally cracked) put in their way.

Now whilst MJP likes to give us a happy ending, she isn’t averse to making her characters and readers suffer along the way to said HEA. In fact I get the feeling that she likes nothing better than torturing her readers by dangling love, peace, harmony and all that jazz just in front of your nose, then snatching it away again as she cackles hysterically about it. For instance Zac and Tula – talk about give with one hand and take away with the other!

I don’t beelieve that there’s much more to say. It’s a fun book, more plot than character driven, fast paced, silly and a great read. This is a quote that nicely sums up what you’ll be getting for your well spent coin.

The woman’s mouth fell open to the fully slack position as she took in the enormous beehive atop Colel’s head.
“Oh no. Don’t do that. Chuck will think it’s an invitation.”
He loved the warmth of a good human mouth or , really, any human orifice.
    Such a pervy little thing

  • RED – Measha Stone

    5 stars – ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Oh Measha Stone, you have written one heck of an anti-hero in our deliciously conflicted Erik. He is the epitome of a good man doing bad things for (in his mind at least) good reasons. And whilst Melinda might not necessarily like being owned property, he does plan on offering her choices, allowing her to make the best of a bad deal. Melinda is one fiery, fury-filled female and she isn’t afraid to tell Erik no. In fact the red-haired beauty can’t seem to help but challenge him at every turn.

As with the rest of the Ever After series, this is very loosely based on a fairy-tale. The colour of Melinda’s hair is a big clue to which one, add in Erik’s wolf medallion and her Grams to the mix and you have most of the cast of Little Red Riding Hood. Though in this one the wolf wants to eat Red in an entirely different way!

I’m also going to throw in a trigger warning that this book contains spanking, BDSM type play and a CONSENSUAL power exchange, though some may view it as more dubious consent in nature. If this type of content bothers you please don’t read it and then leave a low review – not when you knew in advance.

I adored Erik, loved him, and he is now my favourite of the Ever After Doms. This author doesn’t do vanilla heroes, and whilst I wouldn’t classify this as a BDSM romance it does have themes of Domination and submission, along with some kinky play. Alpha to the point of aggression, though only ever in protection of Melinda.

Despite how their relationship began, the fact that Erik is very much in control and how he refers to her as ‘mine‘ – (*shiver*, I can hear him saying that even now!) – , she never felt like a mere possession. Rather Melinda was a rare and precious creature that would be protected and cherished until his last breathe.

Similarly Melinda is equally likeable, a woman tossed into an impossible situation, clinging to what little control and pride she has left. This girl has been handed a pretty rough hand by life so refuses to get scared, instead she gets angry. I loved her feisty personality, her stick-out-your-chin and fake-it-til-you-make-it attitude. Some might feel she is a little bratty, me I saw a woman standing her ground and refusing to give up.

I spent the first half of the book wanting to shake Erik, he seemed to think he was doing Melinda some huge favour and she should be grateful to him. At the end of the day, as a couple of different characters pointed out, he didn’t have to collect the three debts. Not when those ‘debts’ were repaid in the form of three blameless young women.

Melinda is the last to be collected, and once Erik has sold her, or found another way to pay off the debt against her name, he and his brothers will get their inheritance. No-one seems to care that the debt isn’t truly Melinda’s, but until those accounts are settled Erik is bound by the terms of his evil uncle’s last will and testament.

This callous disregard for right and wrong, that he tries to make better by ‘giving them a choice’, made him the sort of anti-hero that you love to hate, hate to love and are desperate to see brought to his knees by the heroine. I’m not sure when I went from disliking Erik to loving him, or how it happened either. But it did.

What truly made this into a 5 star read was that it wasn’t just the anti-hero claiming the heroine. Instead we are treated to a fantastic suspense, with lots of mystery, intrigue, shocks and despair. There is so much I’d love to tell you about this part of the story, but then I’d be spoiling things for you. However let me just say that I spend a very enjoyable Sunday afternoon reading this book (even though I had an arc book I should have been finishing).

    Blurb

Collect the girl. Speak some vows. Inherit the fortune. Nowhere in the requirements did it say anything about falling in love.

Melinda thinks she’s just coming to grandma’s for dinner, but she’s wrong. She’s wrong about a lot of things. None of which is my business.

The only business I have is to settle the open accounts on my uncle’s books, so I can collect my inheritance and move on with my life. Collecting Melinda in order to cross off her grandfather’s debt wasn’t hard, but she’s not exactly marching gracefully up to the auction block for me.

    I’m not the monster here.

I’m not the one who sold her to my uncle, I’m just the collector. My hands are as bound as hers thanks to the whims of our families. But with her red hair, and fiery spirit, Melinda’s giving me more trouble than I anticipated.

Good thing, I don’t run from trouble.

  • ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 1/2

Pride & Punishment is a box set of the first three books from the Bridal Discipline series. It contains two full length novels and a bridging novella, all of which are historical romances that contains scenes of domestic discipline and spanking.

The first gem in this set is Philip’s Rules, the story of the Marquess of Dunbury and his bride, Cordelia. Cordelia is guardian to a step-daughter from her brief first marriage to a much older man. Gabrielle, the headstrong and spirited young lady in question, is the heroine of the other two books, Undisciplined and Gabrielle’s Discipline.

    Philip’s Rules – 4 stars

A spin off from the Domestic Discipline quartet, this has a feel all of it’s own

Whilst there is still domestic discipline within the pages of this book, this had a much more erotically kinky feel to it. Cordelia, as a widow, might not have been a virgin, but Philip took great delight in corrupting her innocence anywhere and everywhere he could!

Having read the very entertaining Domestic Discipline series, it was really good to catch some glimpses of Eleanor, Edwin, Irene, Hugh, Cynthia, Wesley, Grace and Alex again. However you don’t need to have read any of those books to understand and enjoy this one.

I loved both main characters, they were so very likeable and made a really adorable couple. The author really convinced me of the connection they shared and of how much personal growth Cordelia underwent. The entire story is an absolute delight to read, it’s a fairly long book but at no point did it drag or get boring. The author just had one heck of a good story to convey and it simply wouldn’t have been done justice in any fewer words.

I feel the need to warn you that this story contains punishment spankings, carried out by the hero on both Cordelia and her step-daughter Gabrielle. If that is liable to offend you then this may not be the book for you, I hate seeing reviews on this type of book referring to ‘beatings’ and ‘violence’ against the women when (a) that isn’t the case and (b) the book warns you about the content. Whilst Cordelia didn’t enjoy the actual spanking, she did accept and give consent to the discipline, so if you’re new to the genre I feel this is an ideal book to ‘experiment’ with (and boy there’s some smokin’ hot experimenting within these pages!)

    Undisciplined – 4.5 stars

Undisciplined in my mind is very much a bridging book between Philip’s Rules and Gabrielle’s Discipline or a prequella to the latter story. This contains scenes from Philip’s Rules , but from Gabrielle and Felix’s point of views, rather than Cordelia and Philip’s.

I loved the truths the book revealed about this couple and their struggles. It cleverly alters your perspective of Gabrielle, who previously appeared quite cruel and selfish at times. By the end of this I’d gone from disliking the girl to being her biggest supporter.

Whilst quite short, Undisciplined is also a really engaging and well written story that provides the perfect set up for Gabrielle and Felix’s story in book #2 of the Bridal Discipline series.

    Gabrielle’s Discipline – 5 stars

This was a delightful read, multifaceted and touching on some fairly deep emotional/psychological issues. The more you get to know her, the more you fall in love with the vulnerable and emotionally fragile Gabrielle. However she is also a minx of the first order and has a fire inside her that gets her into lots of trouble!

Felix was the perfect man for her, dark, a little broody but also very observant and quick to pick up on his wife’s emotions. I loved that he wasn’t Peter Perfect. Not only did he freely admit his short-comings but by tempering his responses to Gabrielle he demonstrated both fairness to and respect for her. That isn’t to say he didn’t spank her poor behind when she needed it, but he did so with such tender love and reverence that I could only swoon at his feet.

There’s was a rather sudden marriage so unsurprisingly there are several ups and downs along the way. They both used these as learning experiences, so even though Felix was ‘in charge’, theirs felt a much more equal partnership. Well apart from in the bedroom, or where ever Felix decided to play, but since Gabrielle enjoyed his kinky tortures that wasn’t an issue!

The scenes that included Cynthia and Arabella were huge fun. Would well brought up Victorian young ladies really have gossiped so and discussed such delicate matters? I have no idea, but surely we women haven’t changed that much over the years, so I rather like to think they might have.

From the very outset you can’t help but root for Felix and Gabrielle, she so very much deserves to be loved and cherished and he is just the man to provide that for her. This is my favourite historical spanking romance book of the ones that I’ve read. Bravo Ms Angel.

    LOVE. HONOR. OBEY.

    BLURB:

This box set contains the first three books of the Bridal Discipline series –

Philip’s Rules: Cordelia’s determined to be the perfect wife, but her stepdaughter from her first marriage is just as determined to undermine her every step of the way. His method of correction for both Cordelia and Gabrielle isn’t what either lady expected, but Cordelia finds confidence in his support and care of her and love begins to bloom.

Undisciplined – A Novella: Gabrielle is used to being a burden, and when her stepmother finds a new husband she knows that’s exactly what she is to both of them. She’s prepared to marry anyone, to try and grasp for what happiness she can find, and no longer be underfoot of the happy couple. This novella was written at the request of readers who wanted to know what was happening between Felix and Gabrielle during Book 1 of the Bridal Discipline series.

This is one ‘Beau’ tifully written story.

Stuck on You is the second book set in Ruby Bay and features Beau, another of the Bliss brothers. It can very easily be read as a stand alone, though then you’d miss out on Crush on You , which is also a really good story.

If you’ve read CoY, then you will have got a little hint of Beau, and his troubles, at the end of it. As far as the Bliss brother, their resort and Ruby Bay is concerned, Beau is a synonym for event planning, fun and good times. He’s the guy guaranteed to make any party go with a swing, always smiling and with a drink in his hand. Only appearances can be very deceptive and false smiles can hide a multitude of pain.

When Claire is drafted in to work with Beau, after a very unfortunate incident with some fireworks and a boat from the local yacht club, they are soon making sparks of their own. It’s pretty much dislike on first sight, he sees an uptight and cold perfectionist, she sees the party guy image he fools everyone with. However the more time they spend together the more they both realise that someone else lies beneath the facade. Someone they’d really quite like to know.

In this almost enemies-to-lovers tale, there is also a huge dose of insta-lust that spirals very quickly into insta-love. The time frame in the book is fairly short BUT because Claire and Beau are very much the focus of the story, not to mention how much time they spend together, I found it worked. I did believe in their passion and emotions, they certainly heated up my kindle with their chemistry.

I also really liked them both, faults, secrets, foolish choices and all. They felt human and so very believable and made me care about them. There is an air of warmth that this story exudes, a feeling of being in your PJ’s, wrapped up cosy in a blanket, nibbling on chocolate. It’s very much a relaxing read, whilst still being entertaining at the same time. In fact whilst I wouldn’t classify this as a rom-com, it did have a subtle humour about it, a certain something that brought a gentle smile to the lips and a soft caress to the heart.

In some ways it’s a book to read when you’ve had your fill of hard and heavy reads. It’s a story to lift your spirits, take away your cares and leave you happy. However that doesn’t make it forgettable, it doesn’t mean it’s low quality or boring, nothing could be further from the truth. So much so that this is a book (and author) I will happily recommend to family and friends.

    Enemy, meet lover.

Nice to meet you. I’m Beau Bliss, and I don’t just throw parties at the resort I own with my brothers: I am the party.

…right up until the event that will go down as Disaster of the Year.

Now we’re playing defence, and I’m playing it hardest of all. Damage control has arrived in the form of prim, proper, uptight Claire Cashmore…and she’s ready to shut it all down.

If I want to keep my job, I have to charm her.
Claire is determined not to be charmed.

If I want to win her over, I’m going to need more than my signature cocktail. A lot more.

With time running out, I have to pull out all the stops.
Even the ones I’d rather keep firmly between the sheets.

4 stars – I really enjoyed this book, I might not read it again but I would definitely recommend it to others.

3 stars – This story was good but either forgettable or just very typical of its genre.

2 stars – Whilst the book was readable I either didn’t enjoy parts of the plot or just could not connect to the main characters.

1 star – This is a book I simply could not finish

This is an excellent follow up to Ravenous Innocence, Book #1 of The Last Titan series.

I sat and read this in one go, in a non-stop, ignoring-the-world, can’t-put-it-down-until-I’ve-got-to-the-end kind of way. Yet despite all that my brain can’t formulate words adequate enough to do this book justice. I’m struggling to write a review that expresses just how much I loved this book, enjoyed it and wouldn’t change a single thing about it. Not even when those ‘things’ didn’t go the way I wanted them to!

Mila is so strong, though in her naivety? foolishness? isolation? madness? she seems to never learn from her mistakes and over estimates her own cunning. Yet I still loved her and so want to see her succeed. I was equal parts frustrated by how far she fell, yet awed by her strength and determination never to give up, give in or surrender.

At times reading this felt like swimming against the tide, BUT NOT IN A BAD WAY! Just in a ‘everything’s going down the pan’ kind of way. It was never slow or boring, never repetitive or tedious, not once, not at all. In fact there was an awful lot happening, lots of twists and turns, lots of intrigue and not knowing who to trust, virtually non-stop action in fact. And amidst all of that is Mira, fighting a seemingly unwinnable battle, and struggling in vain against her nemesis, Captain Asher Rawlings.

At times I really disliked that man, I mean really, really , disliked him. Disliked him to the point of wanting him hurt in a myriad of untold and painful ways. Yet, as with the best of antiheroes, there was the occasional tiny little glimmer of something else, something better, maybe even something close to caring

Oh and the world building – I haven’t even touched on the amazing world building within these pages. Boy oh boy, am I hooked on this series. I have absolutely no idea how it will proceed from that doozy of an ending. I do know I will be reading the next book in the series and it can’t come out soon enough for me.

“It hurts, doesn’t it?” he whispered, letting me strain to the limit of my bonds, maintaining the distance between us with a smirk. “Being so close to what you need, yet unable to take it. Five years I went without, Mila. But don’t worry,” he whispered, flicking a lock of sopping wet hair over my shoulder. “I won’t make you wait that long. No, you can have everything you want, right now…”

It’s been five years since I watched the Goddess burn, since I rejected my sacred-bloody-calling and turned instead to the limitless potential contained in the forest. It alone sustains me, feeding those dark, forbidden urges with ancient power.

Not even he can touch me here, where my influence is absolute.

Stalemate or no, Captain Asher Rawlings is a resourceful man, and though it’s been years since he’s so much as set eyes on my face, he hasn’t given up the hunt.

    He’ll never stop.

Not until my knees are sullied and my skin is marked.

But he has the one thing capable of luring me from my fortress of ancient power…
    … the one thing I can’t resist…

  • Vow of Obedience

    ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

A well executed romantic suspense with a garnish of Daddy Dom

I have to say I really liked and definitely enjoyed this book. It ticked so many of my ‘required to enjoy’ boxes, including a well thought through and engaging plot, that moved at a perfect pace. I really liked both Geraint and Bronwyn, he was nicely gruff and dominant but not arrogant, she was fragile but with a core of steel. The pair of them just fitted perfectly together, with a connection that was believable and a chemistry that was hot. This was no mean feat given that the heroine spent most of the story refusing to speak.

Despite the gritty back story, and the dark setting of the book this very much had a feel of being a warm love story. That said there was still plenty of depth, intrigue and peril to add extra colour to the tale. This one perhaps wasn’t quite so tied in to the Cavalieri Della Morte element of the book, but it definitely had that organised crime vibe. This is a book I would happily recommend to others.

Don’t cry, little girl. Daddy will forgive you.

The job was meant to be impossible, even for the Cavalieri Della Morte.
Kill Adelmo Lange, the reclusive crime boss who murdered my brother.

    Until her. Adelmo’s daughter.

Branwen has taken a vow of silence to atone for her sins, but I don’t need her to say a word.
She’s the bait that’s going to draw my target out.

Now she’s going to swear another vow. A vow of obedience. To me.

Together, we’re going to take down her father. If she does exactly what I tell her, she may even escape with her life.

    Do as daddy says.
